Wow guys, seriously... I was looking for some info on the conquest tonight, and I came across this astounding explaination of how HP is most important factor in racing...
His math and physics examples are so off it's not even funny, and yet you should have seen how the guys were eating it up and bowing down to him as a great master of computation and thanking him for setting the record straight... LMAO

You can clearly see that the Honda F1 is faster than the diesel, therefore, horsepower is better than torque. -- Being rebuilt, It'll take a while:

Yeah, and apparently the concept of a breaker bar is backwards, because after all, it's harder to support a one pound weight with a 4 foot pole than it is a 1 foot pole... What is that guy smoking?

Actually his breaker bar is correct...it is harder to hold on to a one pound weight at 4ft than 1ft...but his overall arguement is WAY off. -- 2005 GMC 1500HD 6.0L, 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix

Ahh... I misread the lever part... I thought me meant the weight was hanging at the pivot point and would be "wound" up by lifting the long lever... You are correct, with the weight out at the end of the lever, that part is correct... --

I didn't read the idiot's theories on why, but horsepower is more important than torque in terms of racing (and before some of you go flying off the handle, that doesn't mean you can get by with zero or minimal amounts of torque.)
I don't really feel like going over the intricate points, but if you want a thorough explanation, I'm sure Tino would be more than happy to let you know if you E-mail him or something. -- '98 Firebird Formula

The dumbass talks about the two as if they're independent. HP is a number derived from TQ.
HP=2<Pi>*(TQ)*(RPM)/33000

hp is just the rate at which you make torque.
1 hp is like 550 lb/ft/sec * rpm or something? I dont remember.
so what's his argument on why a honda still loses to a V8? is it because it doesnt rev to 18000 rpm? --
