how do you fix the curb rash? i have some gouges that are 3/8 inch wide and 1/4 deep and then there is a rim that its pretty mangled all around.
on the one in my thread there are some chunks out and I smoothed them so that there were no high spots and all the rash was low spots.
so i guess my question is that how do you fill the low spots of the curb rash. keep in mind that these will be polished rims. -- 94 formula, turning into a trans am

you'd have to smooth out the surface so that there are no low spots. -- i rock.

so basically you sand and file the rim untill there is no rash? how can you remove that much material and not have it look wierd? -- 94 formula, turning into a trans am

i actually use a dremel tool to get the actual ridges of the rash out ( the sharp parts) which leaves a kind of valley in the rim.
then get some low grit sandpaper and get to work by hand. your basically going to sand 3 inches or so in each direction of the rash which will make the valley disappear to the naked eye...and anyone actually feeling the rim wont notice because it is a gradual slope versus a chunk missing. -- i rock.

yup. thatll do it! i put a flat element (metal wood whatever)between the hammer and the wheel so you have a square surface to hit -- i rock.
