I think only John and Brent know, but I'll fill everybody else in. I went to the track a couple of weekends ago to test the new clutch, and had problems. With a combination of only a mail-order tune, no stickies, clogged fuel filter, dying pump, an O2 that wasn't connected, possibly a mis-connected driver side O2 (more on that in a sec), and a very high track altitude (DA of 5900' ), I ran a best of 14.0 @ 103. Should've been a low 13 at sea level, or close.
Prior to the track, the story on the O2s. The previous owner made is own O2 extensions when he got the LTs. Well, the poorly spliced wires some how came undone. So I connected them back the way I thought was right until I could get a new O2. Why have a four wire connector with only 3 different colors, IDK. Went to the track and ran 14s all night, then it gets worse. After the 3rd run or so, around 4K in 2nd and 3rd, I felt the car lose fuel. The final run of the night was a 15.6 @ 88. I couldn't even do a burnout the last few runs. So I started thinking its possible I connected the O2 wrong. Go buy a new one and I'm still throwing codes. Found out that it was possible I pinched a ground wire when putting the tranny back in from the clutch install. So I took a look, and the passenger side O2 wasn't even connected, but was still zip-tied right next to the connector so at a glance, it looked like it was plugged in. Fixed it and thought all was well, as the codes went away. But it felt like my car was still losing fuel, being sluggish. I changed the fuel filter yesterday, and it was probably the original one from '99 lol. I noticed a difference, but the problem was still there. I was dreading the fuel pump, not cause its hard to replace, but the fact that money is really tight right now. Anyway, earlier today, I heard the pump whining when the car was on, so I'm almost 100% sure thats the problem. I'll be replacing the pump tomorrow (got a good deal on one) so everything should be set.
Sorry for the novel but I'm ready to get my car running right again lol -- Trent

Have fun with that, I changed it out on my 86 three times. Well I got some bad gas and took out the tank and cleaned it out. Since I was still living at home with mom and dad I asked him to let's get a new fuel pump while I had it out. I'm sure it was the original that was 10 or 12 years old. He said no that it'd be fine. Well no such luck, then a guy down the road had a 91 camaro that was flipped upside down. We to the pump out of that. No Go. Third time I finally bought a pump. Bam, ran better that it ever had. They are not fun at all. You do know the procedure, correct? --

Jackie, I've just been really busy with work, and when I'm home haven't really had the urge to get on the computer. --
