New DD...

I've been driving my truck for the past few years and thought it was time to grab a new DD to save on the truck mileage some... (50+ per day to work and back) Not to mention gas savings...
So I was trolling ebay for a while and finally came across a car I thought had a decent look... Here's what I bought... I'm going to Alabama on Saturday to pick it up... It's an 88 Chrysler Conquest TSI w/ Intercooler... Have any of you guys ever owned one? I got it for $2k with a crap load of spare parts... 140k miles...
I heard a rumor that once I have a proper garage, someone might try shoehorning a v8 in there somewhere....
Let me know whatcha think!

^ yeah, it's just a bebe turbo... I've read that it's a 2.6 liter 4-banger that puts out around 190ish hp, 225ish lb-ft...
Rear drive, IRS, lots of creature comfort options, about 3000lbs curb weight... --

Dude, good pick up. I am always on the lookout for one 'cause I used to love 'em as a teen but they are really hard to find. Should be a manual, but otherwise, totally cool. Looks to be in good condition too. good luck with it. --

I donno, maybe compared to the 3.4's... The 3.8 may be able to hold it's own... especially given the mileage on this thing... --

140k is nothing if taken proper care of.
I think it's a sweet little car. I like 280ZX turbos too.

I had an ex g/f that had one and my old neighbor had one. Those are some sweet riding cars. My old neighbor was a hot rodder. He had a 69 Chevy C10 modded pretty bad and he parked it and bought his as a DD. He took me for a ride a few times in his. It was nice and pretty quick if i remember. His was a manual though.
Nice car, but not sure about maintenance issues though. -- 89 GTA Trans Am stock.WS6 T-Tops, Alpine sound system, Flowmaster exhaust
