There is Subway right next to my gym. So I get turkey and ham (double meat) no cheese. let, tom, pickles, and black olives on 6" wheat bread. Salt and pepper and vinegar. No oil.
What do you guys eat?
Any suggestions? -- 02 T/A AUTO Metalic Silver. 07 Yaris M5.

A big thick PB&J sammich
crunch/strawberry/toasted weat bread
And a protien powder mix. (suff from walmart)
That subway sounds pretty good. I think dousing it down with ranch, mayo or whatever ruins the purpose of eating at subway. I like to eat fruit before a workout also. --

I'm a big fan of working out an hours or so before i go to bed. I just eat a tuna sammich and a protein shake and that protein overload puts me to sleep like a baby. and then, i hope, my body builds up muscle overnight. I'm pretty sure that's how it happens. IDK, I'm not a pro or anything but put up respectable ###'s. -- Being rebuilt, It'll take a while:

Weight has nothing to do with it. It takes 6-8 hours to digest whey protein. Nutritionists and trainers recommend a protein shake right before bed. Muscle building happens in bed, not at the gym.
As for immediately after a workout, you want to take a no-load creatine product. I use Optimum Nutrition Vassive CE. I use the Vassive NO prior to workign out. Within an hour of working out, you want to get a good amount of protein in you...meal replacement bar, shake, etc. If you want to do a meal, stick with protein rich lean meats like chicken and beef, and stay away from carb rich foods like bread, etc. --

^you also need some carbs in there too to help transport the protein as well (or something like that, so I hear). I could be wrong, I dont remember where I heard that --

If youre working out in the morning, then yes, you need carbs for the day's energy. Most people work out in the afternoon / evening, so it's really recommended tht you avoid carbs within 4-6 hours of going to bed.
Personally, by the time I get off work, hit the gym for 2 hours, then drive home, I'm about 2 hours away from bed. I drink my creatine drink as soon as I'm done working out, then I chug my Pro Complex protein shake as soon as I get home, about half an hour after leaving the gym.

Damn Alex!
How many times I need to tell you....
Work out, then get yourself a can of tuna and make tuna salad or something with egg whites. 1 can of tuna contains 2 servings. Each serving is 23 grams of protein and there is absolutely no fat.
Eat that shit! The powder drinks will work too, but give it a few years and you can take your liver and dump it in the trash.

4 scoops protein powder(56gr), 1 cup mix fruit, 4tblspn peanut butter, 16oz milk. blended to a shake.
pre work out is either Krush, fast twitch, or vapor. all work great. never had luck with explode, although it did taste pretty good. --

i work out an hour or so before bed. i drink a nitric shake before, 1 or 2 walmart creatine & juice shakes during, and a protein powder/egg white/milk/peanut butter shake after.
add that to 5 servings (a big can) of tuna and another protein powder shake during the day.
i had a bottle of naNO vapor but i got really light headed during my workout, so i switched to a different brand, but i dont remember off the top of my head which. --

There's so many different brands out there, it comes down to what brand you like, the price, and if you see results from it, not to mention if you like the flavor.
I have always been a fan of Optimum Nutrition. Anything of theirs I have used has worked well and given me results. For shakes, I use ON Pro Complex. It has some other supplements in it that a basic meal replacement or protein shake doesn't usually have. I usually make it with milk, but they taste ok with water too.
I also get protein from meal replacement bars. Lately I've been eating Metrx Big 100 Colossal bars for breakfast. I eat one in the morning because it's a big bar with a lot of calories. I have a few smaller meals or snacks throughout the day, then a shake after working out. Sometimes if I'm really hungry after working out I'll have another bar, or a small protein rich snack.
No offense to anybody, but supplementing with protein is safe. You're not going to hurt your liver unless you're taking in hundreds of grams at once. --

That's not a bad deal Alex, but GNC's prices are high compared to some mail order places. The two places I buy from have regular prices lower than GNC's sale prices. Fortunately for me, both places are close to me so I just go there and shop. But, it would probably be cheaper for you to order from them.

Thats the kind of protein i've been using for years alex. Anyone you ask will tell you its very good shit. They just upped their prices though.. I was payin 29 bucks for 5 pounds. I jus paid 41.99 for 5 pounds last week.
6-8 hours for whey protien to digest is not true. Especially that brand. it is a very fast digesting protein which is the main reason it is good to take that after you lift. Caisen (spelling?) on the other hand will last for 4-6 hours and for that reason is good to take before bed.
Every night i get home from the gym i take BCAA's, usually a big burger or chicken, and about 20-30 hour after that i'll do a shake. The BCAAs are in your system VERY quickly becuase they do not have to be broken down like whey, caisen, or soy protiens. Whole foods are always a better quality protein.. but red meat digests some what slow.
Like illya said.. TUNA. PErsonally i hate tuna. But if your a tuna fan eat that shit like its goin out of style... probably the smallest portion of food with the most amount of protien. --

Are you trying to build muscle? If so, the half hour or so after a workout is when your body's absorbency rate of nutrients is elevated, so have something that's high on the GI index (like grape juice) with some protein.
