It's that time of the year again to start scheduling vacation for May's NFME Big Event in Memphis TN. Registration is open and all of the details are available at: http://www.fbody-event.org/. This year's event is sure to be the biggest and best event to date and includes plenty of time for all of your favorite past events including Drag Racing, AutoX, Road Course and new this year, a timed road course event!
Details at this point are:
When: May 15-17, 2008
Where: Memphis Motorsports Park in Memphis, TN
Cost:
Base Event Fee: $25 - gets you into the facility to spectate or race
Drag Racing: $75 for 3 days of drag racing - about 20 hours of track time - this is CHEAP, especially considering the low number of cars. Past events with 150+ registered participants often provided for hot-lapping your car down the drag strip. You can really run as many times as you and your car can handle.
Auto X: $25 for 2 days of Autocross - about 10 hours of track time - this again is CHEAP and in the past with 50+ participants, you can basically run your car as much as you and your car can handle.
Road Course: $200 for 3 days of road course time at MMP - you just won't find a price like this, period, anywhere. Typically the event runs 4 Groups depending on the power of the car and experience of the driver and groups generally have 10-12 cars in a group. This is not open wheel to wheel racing - you're on the course with an instructor and the course is staffed with corner workers to help provide safety. Overall, this is a safe, non-racing event that allows you to push your car and driving abilities to the limits and enjoy some WOT time with your car.
Road Course Timed Event: $50 extra added to the road course fee - this will allow you to run WOT and have your lap times timed. Compare laptimes to friends and see whose car and driving ability is really king of the hill.
I can't say enough good things about this event and I highly recommend that anyone on this site, with or without an f-body, local to Memphis or not, takes the time to come out to the event. I drive down from Jersey for this event - about 18 hours - and the trip is more than worth the time and distance.
YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER AND PAY - YOU CAN NOT PAY AT THE GATE TO RACE OR SPECTATE
See you there!

I didn't even know there were "meets". Let me know when/where and I'll see if I can make time to hang - jhogan@fbody.com - I do check my email and I do read most - I just don't reply to many as I get hundreds of messages every day, spam not included.
Alex, if you have a truck that can pull it, you're welcome to borrow my trailer. I probably won't have my 98 ready to race by the time the event comes around so I won't be needing it.

HHHMMMMM you got me thinking. I'll see what I can do. I still have a whole list of other crap i need to do with my car. Replace the current H/C with another package and see how the 4L60E is holding up. If its slipping then the whole thing is canceled. -- 02 T/A AUTO Metalic Silver. 07 Yaris M5.
