Glow Plug question

Posted By: REDBIRD95 On: 01-03-2008 @ 16:06:31         Reply | Edit
My dad's diesel International 444 tractor(4 cyl) keeps burning out the glow plug closest to the front. Any ideas what could be causing this? Getting colder now and she'll never start now without the glow plugs working.

Thanks for any help

Most times it's a stuck relay/solenoid that powers the plug. They tend to stay engaged and power it all the time leading to failure.

Thats a very general suggestion though. I have no idea how that particular system is set up.
