I have a pay pal account, attached to a cred card, but in the near future i may be selling alot of car parts. Most people are requesting via pay pal. But I never had a bnk acct attached to it.
Do people tend to do this, when you get money in the pay pal account, how much does it cost to xfer funds to my account.
Is it safe?? LIke once i got the confirmation I have the money, is it ok to ship the item
Im just so very unsure. I need some expert insight
thanks! -- '94 Black Z28, 383 LT1 Breaking 11's SOON!

do it. It's fine.
Payment is immediate. Say I got something from you. The second I hit pay it will show up in your account and debit it from my account or my bank account/credit card ect.
It's instantly your money now. then you can either keep it in your paypal account or Xfer it to your checking account (which takes about 3-5 days). -- Owner of HBHRacing.com Xtreme performance products

Harlan I will be talking to you later about this, for an example i have them send the payment to the Account which is attched to a Credit card, will it immediately hit the card, or do I have to manually xfer to an account or CC.
If so how is that done.
I am at work so I cant see it but when I get home ill double check, I also thought there is a % fee for doing this. -- '94 Black Z28, 383 LT1 Breaking 11's SOON!

I've always sent payments, but haven't received any as of yet. But i understand there is a 3% charge to receive payments. I am not sure about the cc or if you have to apply it to a checking/savings account. But i do know there is a fee. I haven't had any problems yet using paypal. -- 89 GTA Trans Am stock.WS6 T-Tops, Alpine sound system, Flowmaster exhaust

if you have money in your account it will always pull from there, but if not then it will pull it directly from your checking account, CC ect.
there is no fee to send, and there is no fee to receive on a personal account. But when you get a premier/business account there is a 2.something% fee to receive. There are types of payments that you can only take if you have a premier account.
For example, someone used a check payment or CC or something to pay for a fan switch of mine but I could not accept it with a personal account so I had to upgrade but it's not a big deal.
I would link it to a checking account and possibly a debit card linked to that same account. It's easier then linking to a CC. All you do is sign up and give the correct info, then paypal will transfer 2 small payments to your bank account (something like $0.14 and $0.37 for example) and to verify that you are the account holder you enter these values on paypals confirmation page after you see them come into your account.
It's really pretty easy when you start getting into it. It's a bit of a bitch having them take 2.XX%, but it really does save a lot of time when your selling goods. I can see payment and send a product, instead of waiting 2-5 days for a check or money order to arrive before I can even ship a product. It's also nice for keeping record in case of disputes. -- Owner of HBHRacing.com Xtreme performance products

In my auctions I always state that payments are to be made through paypal. I also have the premier account. They take something like 2 or 3% out of payments received. But when I use my paypal card as a charge to buy something I get a 1-1/2% back each on each transaction.
I love paypal, I've never had any problems with it. Payments arrive and there's no BS waiting for a check to arrive or clear. Money orders are okay but takes a while for snail mail. When I get paypal payments I always mail out the next day. I've gotten some bad checks but PP has always been great! --

Do yourself a favor and get a second account from your bank just for Paypal. Transfer from Paypal to this account, then do an online transfer with your bank to get it into your main account.
I've heard horror stories of sellers who had the Paypal charges disputed because the item was damaged, etc. When this happens, Paypal just takes the money back out of your account and you have to fight to get it back (and in the mean time you end up bouncing checks if live paycheck to paycheck). --
