Rumors regarding TITE 3. New information revealed WITHIN.

So...whats up?

Those of you who went to Thunder in the North and had a chance to speak with me may have heard rumors about Thunder in the East III being cancelled for the 23rd and the 24th of July.

That isn't too far off from the truth. The biggest problem I'm having is the stupid track. It isn't so much money as it is a logistical nightmare. With the track being so far away and with the conditions we are given, I do not feel as though the event would be worth it, nor would it be sweet enough to increase the number of attendees, to both the barbeque AND the track the next Sunday. I have decided to cancel all pre-made plans for that weekend...

HOWEVER!

If you can't have one TITE...have TWO!

Out of adversity comes triumph. On Saturday July 23rd will be Thunder in the East, 2.5. It will be a one-and-a-half-day event at my house. Beef, beer and filming for an fbody video to be edited by Joseph Goss (director for the WWFB videos http://www.josephgoss.com ) and made to the public. Just a general good time, then a cruise later on in the evening. Sunday we'll head on over to Atco for a T&T. They are also running motorcycles that Sunday, so whether you would like to come is up to you. This is mostly for the local guys (but come if you want!). Nothing extravagant, just a few of us getting together having a great time. For you guys that live several hundred miles away, it may not be worth the drive for a one-day event. Although, if you want to drive for a good time, I won't stop you from dropping by and picking up a burger and chatting for a few minutes. This is on the 23rd of July, the original date for TITE 3.

And the OFFICIAL Thunder in the East III will still be on. Mark your calenders ladies and gentlemen for September 24th and 25th. The 24th will be the same; BBQ chicken dinner and show at Pennsville's Riverview Beach Park on the riverfront in Pennsville, NJ. (Click for map. It is in southern New Jersey, and is quite easy to find. I have already acquired the park permit for the day, so this is the final straw. These dates are certainly official. The format for this event will be the same as the original post (which I will ask moderators to keep active) with the exception of one major detail....

We have acquired the infamous Atco Raceway for Sunday's track event...the FASTEST track on the eastern seaboard!! It's a test and tune only day, but we will have our own lanes for grudge racing and T & T. I will also make sure that there will be a burnout contest in traditional TITE fashion.

I understand that a September event will prevent some of you from coming due to college/school/work/whatnot, but if I can make it to TITN on short notice and make it to work Monday morning at 7am and not be late, then I expect you to be there! Atco is approximately 40 minutes from my place, MUCH better than the original drive to Island Dragway of 2 and a half hours (from the BBQ site). I think that the way I am running this weekend will be a much better logistical choice than the original plans. Even though I may lose some attendees due to it being so late in the season, it just makes more sense to have an event where no one has to spend $80 in gas, just to get to the track for only two hours of racing. I also would like to have those who haven't raced at Atco to actually see in real life the times that this track is capable of giving you, due to it's insane pad and low elevation.

Please note that with the way Atco is set up, you will need to drive through the waterbox; there is no way around it. Have drag radials or slicks if possible! Tech is VERY lenient there also. For example...someone passes through the gate and asks "where is tech inspection?" The man at the gate says "Did you drive it here?" Response: "Yes." Man: "Good enough. Go on in." Much more lenient than Island or Maple Grove.

So all in all, I think that this is for the best. Please, I want your input on what you think I could do to make this event more enjoyable for everyone.

Thank you fbody.com, for putting up with my shit. Feel free to message me or email me with any questions.
