How was the "gratuity" a mandatory part of the bill? I get pissed when restaurants put a mandatory gratuity on bills for groups larger than 5 or 6 people. I don't think I would eat at a place where they did it for 2 people! --

If you dont like the policy, don't eat there. FROM DICTIONARY.COM noun, plural -ties. 1. a gift of money, over and above payment due for service, as to a waiter or bellhop; tip. 2. something given without claim or demand. 3. British. a. a bonus granted to war veterans by the government. b. a bonus given military personnel (jumper, Troy, kevin, etc)on discharge or retirement. --

This is the sort of press that kills an establishment. That the bartender called the cops on the tip off a $76 tab is idiotic. Then the manager trying to claim he offered to comp the meal.
