Why am I disliked here? Posted By: TransAm64 On: 11-19-2009 @ 02:08:13 Reply | Edit Simple question. Can anyone give me a good answer? I've been a member for many years. I don't talk smack, but yet I get alot of negative comments from some guys here. I admit I can be harsh and to the point with my opinions but I don't think the points I bring up are invalid. You're right that there is a lot of internet (and real) BS and that there are a lot of liars. You're right that you need to be cautious and wary of lies and being taken advantage of. I would agree that I'm naturally a paranoid cynical person. But, what you need to consider is that this is an internet message board, of people with similar interests and usually similar senses of humour, mentalities, etc. This particular group is very close-knit in regards to any other board. The amount of f-body information compared to lifestyle, jokes, advice, career, politics, economy, etc is very very small. And that's why a lot of us still come here. On that note, who cares if someone is lying about something completely inconsequential. Don't think I'm hinting that I was, you saw the $1700 receipt, I WISH I was lying. What I'm saying is, you'll never meet 99% of the people here, and the 1% you might meet, you'll then know for sure if they're trustworthy or honest. If someone lies, just ignore them, you have no responsibility or duty to respond to anyone that you think may be a phony. It's commendable that you asked, and I don't think anyone dislikes you. I can tell you from experience though, that when your car is broken and you have no idea what's wrong or how to fix it without spending a fortune, you get a little upset, and having someone's reply be that you're lying, is not helpful in the slightest. Even if I was lying, telling me I'm lying would not make me say "yeah you're right, I give up". Thanks, no hard feelings.
