Is redbull really that bad for you?

Posted By: thenewChrisB On: 11-18-2009 @ 21:36:24         Reply | Edit
Typically I drink one 16oz (The big can) of Sugar Free RedBull everyday. Seems like 3 or 4 times a week I get people telling me that it's really bad for you.

When I was at the grocery store last night picking up my redbull for this morning, some lady walking by said "That stuffs bad for you, it'll lower your blood pressure blah blah blah.." I was like, "It's ok, I have AIDS, I'm dying anyways, don't worry about," and walked away.

Sure it's not the best, but it's the only sort of energy drink that works for me and it's only 10 calories to boot. Millions of people drink a pot of coffee each day, thats not healthy either, but you don't see people going around telling coffee drinkers that its bad for them.

Monster has some residual alcohol in it and will show up on a breathalyzer and other instruments. We tried it in the lab one day after hearing a few reports on it. Cool huh? No, just nerdy? Okay I'll take that.

Coffee isn't nearly as bad for you unless you absolutely rape it with sugar, artificial sweetners, or artificial creams. You shouldn't drink a ton of it, but a cup or two a day isn't a big deal.

Red Bull has all the bad shit you can imagine packed into one. If you want to drink it, whatever, I couldn't care less. The only time I touch the stuff is if someone offers to buy me a Jager bomb in a bar.

*sigh*

the lady is a moron.

reason 1: why these drinks can be bad for you:
sugar/carb content

reason 2: caffeine/stimulant content. energy drinks have an insanely HIGH amount of vitamin B's, guarana, taurine, caffeine...etc. These will raise your blood pressure, increase risk of ulcerations in your stomach (after constant use)

reason 3: carbonation weakens the bones

just like anything and everything else, it is overall unhealthy, but used in moderation it is completely okay.

i had an employee who had never tried Volt and proceeded to try it. we found out he had a hypertension issue when he started gushing blood from his nose after finishing his drink.

the lady you talked to is a dumbass if she said its going to lower your blood pressure.

I prefer SPIKE!

All the fun naughty's in it

http://www.beyondmuscle.com/p5611_Spike_Shooter_Biotest.html

And exactly what it does:

A Colorado Springs school has banned an energy drink after half a dozen students complained of heart palpitations, shortness of breath and nausea. The culprit was Spike Shooter, which at 300 milligrams of caffeine per 8.4-ounce can is the most-caffeinated beverage you can buy. Makers of the product said it is not intended for people under the age of 18 and that people should start by drinking just half a can to see how they tolerate it…

Another fun fact, it goes great with Bacardi silver

Martin Luther had a saying

"let a man eat what he wishes, and let him deal with the consequences"

same deal with smoking and dip.

does nobody believe in skiing no more?

The sugar-free ones are not too bad..
If you read the ingredients..
say sugar free ROCKSTAR..
There are alot of vitamins and natural amino acids..all natural and good for you..
I have lost, and kept off the last 10 lbs I wanted to lose.(over a three month period).
They do help a little as a diet suppliment.

It lowers your sperm count.

My mother-in-law asked me if I drank Red Bull, and was quite concerned.

And I was quite uncomfortable.
