Opening weekend starts today. I'll be able to make it out tomorrow(Sunday), Monday, and Wednesday of this week. I have both tags but I'm really hoping for a younger doe = tasty. Baby animals taste so good!
Anyone else here hunt? I don't recall ever seeing a thread about it. -- Being rebuilt, It'll take a while:

Imagine you're a deer. You're prancing along. You get thirsty. You spot a little brook. You put your little deer lips down to the cool, clear water - BAM. A fuckin' bullet rips off part of your head. Your brains are lying on the ground in little bloody pieces. Now I ask ya, would you give a fuck what kind of pants the son-of-a-bitch who shot you was wearing?

yeah. I hunted when I was in high school. Out of state college sort of stopped my capability though.
I want to get back into it after I graduate though, hunting is fun! Not to mention venison is soooooo tasty. --

I don't think I could shoot a deer.
I don't think I'd be too conflicted about killing a person, though...provided they were doing something to deserve it.
Is that weird? Maybe it's the defenselessness of the deer that does it, because I can totally see myself shooting a bear (or whatever else) that was itching to ruin my shit. -- crunk is the antichrist.

Assbreeze, you appear to become more of a woman with almost every post. Have you sold the LS1 for a G6 yet?
I worry for you. Killing animals should be natural for a man. -- Being rebuilt, It'll take a while:

We lost our leased land to a fire last year, so this year I'll prolly cheat and sit out behind the barn or wait em out in the kitchen and blast em through the window -- lsxltx.com

Hunting is fun for about 10 minutes, which is all adrenaline rush. Sitting in the snow for 10 hours =/= fun in my mind.
(And yes I have hunted before, and have killed a deer and smaller game, so I'm not just talking out of my ass.) --

I love hunting! I just wish I had the time (school) I love sitting in the woods and watching nature all around me and yeah for the times when that deer steps out it really gets your blood pumping! Venison is delicious and that makes it even more worthwhile. It also gives you a great opportunity to reflect on things. -- John

With the house we're in now we have almost 700 acres of woods directly behind us. We can hunt it all we want. I've seen two big bucks recently and we have a whole gaggle of does and fawns that love to play in the backyard every morning. They bed down in the old barn quite often. Easy pickings if I wanted to get one. I haven't scouted the property too far back ( maybe half a mile down the main trail )but a game cam will be up very soon. The tracks are EVERYWHERE along the main trail. I plan on getting a tag for muzzel loader this year. I don't have the patience for bow. -- 00' Trans Am convertible, M6 ,K&N, Edelbrock exhaust. We used to hunt Quail and Rabbits when I was younger. Quail is awesome. I love deer, but I don't hunt. As long as it was killed "still" hunting. Once the dogs run the deer the meat is gamey and tough.
I joked when the economy started falling out that I need to buy a deer rifle so I could provide meat for my family because I wouldn't be able to buy it any other way. --

Dogs running a deer seems like such a bad idea all around.
Cmybird good job, I'm trying new land so yesterday was more of a scout than hunt. I saw a lot of promising places along with 5/6 deer. Tomorrow is more of a real hunt. Woot. -- Being rebuilt, It'll take a while:

Ted Nugent being interviewed by a British journalist.
The journalist asked, "What do you think the last thought is in the head of a deer before you shoot it? Is it, `Are you my friend?` or is it `Are you the one who killed my brother?'"
Nugent replied, "They aren't capable of that kind of thinking. All they care about is, 'What am I going to eat next, who am I going to screw next, and can I run fast enough to get away. They are very much like the French in that way."
