Weather stripping help

Posted By: stevethepirate On: 11-10-2009 @ 04:00:40         Reply | Edit
So my friend has a Volvo S80 (pretty slick car that hauls). The weather stripping around the driver's window has been popping out, and keeps getting worse. It is the top corner of the window. He doesn't want to mess with it and make it worse, but wanted to know if there is a trick to getting the stripping back in. I know we don't have to deal with this with fbodies, but some of you guys are handy mother fuckers...

Go to your local auto parts store and buy some 3M quick drying adhesive/glue. Just ask one of the guys who works there which kind will work best for what you want to do.

If you can't duct it...

The 3M glue is a good idea. Its a nice ass car though, so I think my friend was looking for a more "complete" fix, if that makes sense. As in, getting it back into place naturally so there is no tension on it or anything.

I like that fucking car. It hauls ass for being such a boat, and it has some crazy little features. He has a button up front to lower the rear headrests if he needs the added visibility in the rear view mirror.

Go with the 3M glue, it isn't a "quick fix" like you would think, most cars came with this from the factory.

Either that or a big sheetmetal screw.
