Can't start car ex: why I hate Chryslers

2003 Chrysler Concord. I think it is a 3.5L V6, but I'm not entirely sure as it is someone else's car, but I got volunteered to fix it. Anyways...
Car won't start, doesn't try to crank. Odometer light and door lights are on. I jump start the car with my truck and it starts up fine. The instant the negative cable comes off, the car dies. Try it again, same result. The lights inside the car now do not come on. Try a third time and the car doesn't start at all.
That's all I had time to get in before I had to go to work, so what is everyone's thoughts? I thought it was the alternator at first, but now the battery doesn't seem to take a charge at all. The battery is only 2-3 months old (I know because I put it in) but it could be bad. Haven't checked the voltage from the alternator yet due to time and space restraints (car is parked on a slight hill nose first and the alternator is on the underside of the engine).
My friend might check the battery later, so I will give an update if possible. KKthxbia --

Get the battery and alternator tested, I'm sure it's one if not both of them. --

Check the ground cable for corrosion at the battery and chassis
It dies when you pull the neg cable off, so if sounds like its using your car as a ground to run

Sounds to me like the Alt has been bad for a few days and the battery has been killed from being drained down badly.
Replace both. --

If it is the alternator, has anyone taken one out of a Concorde (it is the 2.7L V6, not the 3.5 BTW)? Seems like a real bitch with it being on the bottom side of the engine. The only thing I could find online about it involved screwing with the radiator support and pushing the radiator forward while supporting the trans-cooler. If that's what the job entails, they can pay a damned mechanic to do it, too fucking cold out for me to be doing that kind of work pro bono. --

So I go to take the batt out to get it tested (it comes out through the pass. wheel well, and I have to turn the wheel to get access. Dash lights are on and I figure WTF might as well try to crank it. Starts up. Been running for 15 min, about to go turn it off and see if it starts again. PITA

Triple post! Alternator tested fine, battery tested a little low on charge, but the car has started 4 times in a row now. Going to get a battery charge pack on there tonight after work, and hopefully that is the end to this story. --
