Guess we all have done something do to inattention at some point in our lives.
He was driving out to take his SATs on Saturday morning, probably with his music blaring and thinking about the SATs and failed to notice his temperature gauge climbing up.
Well, next thing he knew the car was shaking violently and stalled. He got it to the shoulder and steam was pouring out of it. I ran over and picked him up and took him to his SATs and got him there just as they were closing the doors. WHEW!
Went back and looked at the car. I'm pretty sure he did some massive damage, like a broken piston or something. The car started shaking like it was all out of balance and then as soon as it started (which it barely did) it sounded like all hell was breaking loose inside of the thing.
It was a 180k mile 305 TBI, so we're not going to rebuild it. Tonight my dad and I are going out and picking up a rebuilt 355, basically stock other than bored out. Should be a good base for him to have if he wants to build it up later. --

Oh, and I explained to him in great detail on the way home what to do if your gauges show anything abnormal. I think he gets it now. --

It happens. My buddy ran his 1996 TA low on oil and hurt the bearings. This happened on a Saturday, his new ATI Procharger showed up on Monday --

We bought the 355 last night. It is a pre-87 4-bolt main block that has been converted to a roller motor. Not sure what heads are on it, I forgot to check.
I pulled the valve covers and it looks brand new, even has new pushrods.
And the guy gave me a complete TPI setup that we're not going to use.
All for $450. --

Sarav, how hard is it to follow Nietzsche? I read Machiavelli's The Prince earlier this year, and the only thing that was clear was to not trust mercenary infantry while fighting on the peninsula.
