thought you guys might like to see the bird...

Posted By: IwannaFirebird On: 09-28-2009 @ 13:28:43         Reply | Edit
harro er'body, long time no see. I felt bad about dropping off the map for so long, so I figured I'd swing back by and see how everybody's doing and let those of you who remember me see what's happened to the ol' formula.

Mike/Cara--remember how you said I should do heads and cam? Well I did. Heads...and cam...and intake...and crank...and block...and a whole new party.

New engine is an ls2 block with ls3 heads and intake and a custom cam. It's on the dyno today--I'm hoping for around 350 rwhp--anything above that is just icing on the cake.

The other obvious change is wheels. New wheels are forgeline TA3s, 19x8.5 front and 19x12 rear.

Other new stuff--brakes are now wilwoods, 13.2/6 piston fronts and 12.2/4 piston rears.

still got the tko 5-speed, still got the air-ride suspension. Switched to a hydraulic z06 clutch.

I also had the body completely redone--less obvious in pics, but in person it look s like a completely different car.

hope you guys like it!! Feel free to ask away about anything you guys want to know about on it. these shots are only 99% done, but I wanted to get them up asap.

Looks great as always

Id suggest a 90* on the return side of the FPR. The droopy loop is just asking for some road trash to snag it

Posted By: IwannaFirebird On: 09-28-2009 @ 16:35:54     Reply | Top | Edit
Actually just got dyno results....

the droopy loop is now fixed--good eye, though, thought I'd be the only one to notice that. We just ran out of fittings and wanted to get the car up and running to get the bugs out while the fitting came in. Also fixed: the air filter is down out of site in the pocket by the fender where the battery used to go.

Here's the dyno vid and sheet from today.

Sarav, how hard is it to follow Nietzsche? I read Machiavelli's The Prince earlier this year, and the only thing that was clear was to not trust mercenary infantry while fighting on the peninsula.
