problem on my new ta

i just bought a 94 ta and when i put the running lights on the headlights pop up. they (headlights) dont turn on in that position but are they supposed to pop up like that. my 94 formy doesnt. -- 94 formula, turning into a trans am
freshly built and stalled (custom 3200) 4l60e, 4.10 gears in an 01 axle, Loudmouth, lakewood driveshaft loop, Tuning by troy (needs more)
T/A hatch, rear bumper, sideskirts, front bumper. soon to be?

Mine does the same thing but my headlights also grind when they go down. From what I've been told it's because there's a problem with the headlight motors that they pop up like that. --

yeah i just got a response on tech saying that its cause of the motors. mine do grind as well. -- 94 formula, turning into a trans am

Yep what happens is the computer actually reads the resistance and when both motors stop turning the resistance goes up and it shutd them off, but when they grind and keep turning it just eventually times them out instead. Since the computer couldn't tell that they were closed what it does it as soon as you turn the lights back on (even just markers) it runs them up to make sure they are ready to go. --
