Shop for restoration wanted

Posted By: PhilB On: 08-30-2009 @ 12:17:18         Reply | Edit
I’m looking for a shop to do a complete restoration on an Impala but I’m considering having it done out of state. I live in NY and everything is much more money and I can at least save the tax by going out of state.

One shop in Texas told me that they would even buy the parts and sell them to me at their cost and that they would even give me the receipts. Do they all do that? I'm looking for any referrals. Anybody? The car in question is a 64 or 63 Impala. Thanks guys!

Hi Phil.

I'm in Westchester and I use and recommend a shop in Danbury called Ultimate Restorations. I've done my car, a friend's 79 TA, a 10th Anniversary TA, a 78 TA, a 70 Judge and all are regional and National show winners. Mine has been invited into Concours shows as well as street machines and everyone raves about the paint, etc.

If you are interested, call Lew at 203-744-3146 and talk to him. Tell him that Nick with the Red Firebird sent you.

Lew has won Best Paint, Best in Show and Best in Class at a few World of Wheels shows with his Camaro in the past 2 years.

He is very reasonable but very busy, so it might take a while but it is worth it. We did a ground up resto ona 79 in 18 months and it won 1st place at its first national show this Summer.

By the way, he has a 63 Impala in the shop now
