Trade offered, considering, need help Posted By: cochran191 On: 08-25-2009 @ 10:13:32 Reply | Edit I had a guy offer to trade me if I fix a few things on my car. The offer is for a 2001 Cobra, Zinc Yellow, with 64k miles. The reason I am considering is because it has 40k miles less than my car. He really wants a SS, but would take a Z28 with the hood, which mine has. It is a 1/3xx car so it's kind of rare. Why am I an idiot to trade a car with 103,000+ miles on it for a car with 40,000 less? What part of getting an even trade for a car worth $5,000 more than my car makes me an idiot. Is it the simple fact that it is a Mustang? The car is no faster than mine, although a bit faster than your CTS-V, so I'm not trading down on speed. The color of it is not exactly what I'm looking for, but I don't plan on owning it for all that long anyway. I would say at most its worth $3k more than yours. Its also not like your LS1 is at the end of its life at 103k miles. If you plan on selling the car almost immediately, then it might be an o.k. idea, but if not, I wouldn't do it. Its probably going to take time to sell it too. ...its only 2 years and 40k miles and way less reliable. Personally, I'd take a 100k LS based car over just about anything else at 60k miles. Also, there is no way that mustang will sell for $12k. -- 2005 CTS-V LS6 M6 13.627@105.14 stock and hot/humid
