Long tubes, Rear o2's

Posted By: rippinlt1 On: 07-10-2009 @ 15:06:12         Reply | Edit
I was wondering what does the computer use these for?

Do I need them? I know they don't do much. I just bought a set of long-tubes and it has the bungs in the y-pipe for them.

I don't know if I should I keep them or get them tuned out?

Where is a good place to get extensions for the fronts?

This is on my 1997 and I'm waiting to ship my Computer to PCMforless until I know what to do with them.

Once again thanks for the help!

You need to keep the ones in the long tubes. The ones behind the cats can be programmed out.

It pretty much makes sure your cats are there and working. If they aren't working correctly (or missing ) then it will throw the SES light but not affect how the car runs.

Yeah I was gettin a code coming from bank 2 sensor 2. I was thinking my cats might be getting plugged up. So I decided to dig in and slap on some long tubes and get rid of all the polution control. I just got them in the mail today!

Do you know where to get some extensions though?

Harlan (HBHRacing on here) might have some left from his business or just about any place that sells long tubes will have extensions.

Yeah I can get you some. I don't have the company anymore but I still have all of the materials. The ones in the headers are the front, the rears won't be used if you have an off road y pipe without cats. They actually stopped making sims due to the failure rate. So the best thing is just to have them programmed out from the pcm. Shoot me an email at hbhracing at yahoo dot com and ill hook you up.
