Went to a nightclub last night. Posted By: assbreeze On: 07-08-2009 @ 10:50:15 Reply | Edit The most popular one around here, Shrine at the MGM Grand. On a Tuesday night, it was a $10 cover (and $8 beers,) it was packed, women were insanely hot, bartenders were insanely hot, full smoke machine/strobes/lights/etc going, music so loud you can't hear shit next to you, what seemed like professional dancers lining the walls, fake tans and fake tits everywhere, douchebags dressed like they're Usher walking around left and right. ...I mean, yeah, I understand the women are stupidly hot there, but does anyone else really think the whole atmosphere and "element" sucks? 90% of the guys there looked exactly the same, overpriced designer jeans with a black or white button up, hair spiked to holy hell (or shaved bald,) dark fake-ass tan, pumping steroids for years. Most of the women were the same way, minus the roids and plus a gallon of makeup (although I wouldn't be surprised if the dudes had some on, too.) I hit on like three different women that seemed cool, but that was about it (I know you're gonna ask, I crashed and burned once. It was the one I thought was the hottest, too...go figure.) I find it hard to believe so many people actually ENJOY a scene like that, they probably just go because it's the "cool" thing to do. If I had a girl that really wanted to dance, I'd probably take her there, but going alone or with your buds (like I did last night?) Meh. I guess a lot of guys get their kicks by staring at the copious amounts of tail walking around, but to me, it wasn't worth the cover and the price of drinks, and neither was the dance floor, where there was maybe 5 or 6 legitimate hot girls, 10-15 fat girls in outfits they had no business wearing in public, about 45 sweaty meatheads that I described trying desperately to be all up in their shit (but just end up all over another dude because they're in such close proximity,) with another 30 of the same guys being wallflowers along the edges. I don't know, I can fake it and mesh with the crowd OK if I really want to, but there was about 30,000 places I would've rather been last night. Most of the women there, although hot, are not the type you'd ever want to get involved with. I hate nightclubs, mostly for the reasons you just listed. If a girl wants to go dancing we'll go dancing, but that stuff at the nightclub is not dancing... It's not even that nice looking at the "sights" because, like you said, they're super fake, or they assume they're super hot and can get any guy they want. I don't think I'd ever go for a girl that walks around thinking she's all that. They end up at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun acting like they're in Vegas. The pool scene is even worse during the day. The really sad part is all the guys my age there acting the same way. I just live close to two of the biggest Indian casinos in the country, they look like Vegas on the inside, everywhere else, not so much. A few older buddies of mine (mid 30s) wanted to go and asked me to come, they said they'd cover some drinks, who am I to refuse that kind of offer? One of them kept pressuring me to hit on the club whores, but again, that's not really what I'm interested in. Like I said earlier, if you bring a girl there that doesn't party a ton but wants to do some club dancing for a night, that place will win you serious points, but that's the only use I see for it. Nick: If you go to Foxwoods/MGM, let me know. Maybe I'll pop in, both casinos are a half hour max from me and I've got a few buddies that bartend in the MGM. The thing is, you need to be there with a group of people. If you aren't there with your own girls, you need to have at least 4 or 5 guys. Girls never go to nightclubs alone, so its hard to try dancing up on a group of girls when you are by yourself, haha. I hate dancing though. It only happens on the nights that I know I'm not going to remember the next day. --

If I ever go back I'm bringing women, I think I'd enjoy it a lot more that way. I hate those places. The part the pisses me off is that you have to yell as loud as you can to talk to the person next to you and they still have no idea what they said. I like the old dark smokey bars with cheap beer and pool tables. -- Sold

I don't know if I could do NY clubs where you have all the Guidos. When I was in DC there were some nice clubs where 99% of the guys WEREN'T on roids, etc. You also know that most of the girls around are from the DC schools (American, GW, Georgetown) and are at least half smart. --

But yeah, as for nightclubs I don't mind going and laughing at my friends when they get wasted. They always think they're going to pick up chicks, but there's no way anyone can find a decent woman there. I mean when we go with girls, even the girls we go with are trashy. I only go because we always have a big group of guys and girls and that is where everyone is going. It only fun when someone goes early and saves a table so we can play card games and whatnot. Although, it also doesn't have all the gay features of other clubs. It is only $5 covers, $.25 32oz Beers (shitty keystone) or $1.75 32oz wells (strong though). So it is cheap as hell, also has a piano bar. --

" I cant talk REALLY loud, so it pisses me off quite a bit. Women are fake (and HUGE bitches), guys are assholes, cant hear, cant think, expensive... it's a huge waste on many levels. The ONLY time I enjoy going to those is if I'm absolutely polluted out of my mind when I get there and have no care in the world where I dont give a fuck what anyone else thinks. I usually have a blast at that point and have much better luck with the ladies. That only happens about once a year now that I'm out of college. I dont care so much for the smoky bar though either. I'll take a hip bar that's quite, has a fun atmosphere, cheap drinks, and some good friends sitting around shottin the shit.
