307 swap!!!!!help!!! Posted By: mbloodfeast On: 06-28-2009 @ 04:52:03 Reply | Edit ok so my shitty 305 took a crap. either way my buddy had a built 307 he had and now im swappin it in. everything looks like it should fit ok exept my flywheel... my car is a 5 speed. what can i do? the 307 is out of a 68 nova and i am on a budget. could i possibly drill new holes in the flywheel to match the crank? i could imagine my flywheel cracking if i do that but would it work? if not, what flywheel should i get where i could still use my starter and clutch and pressure plate.. or just the cheapest way to do this? Do NOT redrill the holes for a flywheel. The input shaft remains 28 spline for all V8's. I cant remember If they have the same number of starter teeth and similar diameter then they should be good Go to a parts store and pull up a clutch disk from both and compare
