305 FREEZE PLUG !!!!!!!!!!

Posted By: mbloodfeast On: 05-10-2009 @ 21:19:44         Reply | Edit
HELP ME! ok so i got another f-body and i lost my licence as soon as i got it, so it sat outside all winter and i go to start it up, starts right away. then all the sudden its overheating so i look, no coolant. i fill it up, its all pouring right out of the freeze plug on the passenger side. the one above the motor mount, it popped out. so what do i gotta do to put it back in? i know the motor mount has to come out, but do i gotta completley lift the engine? do i gotta undo both motor mounts to lift it enough? please help...

Freeze plugs tap in

Remove the mount and jack up the side of the engine enough to get access, you shouldnt have to remove both mounts

The smog pump may need to be removed for access, but thats a simple job

If you dont have anough room to tap a new one is you can always use a block heater or rubber expansion plug.

I would recommend against a rubber expansion plumbing plug
