Data logging issues

Ok, I built a ALDL to Serial connector for my 89 IROC. When I first hooked it up, I used Datamaster and it would recognize the ECU. When I tried to log anything it would just keep saying it couldn't sync and was retrying. So I took the adapter I made and examined it. Found out one of the transistor leads had broken under the transistor itself. Hard to see unless you're really looking. So I replaced that. In the mean time I downloaded WinALDL. We when I reconnected the ALDL connector I made it worked fine with WinALDL and logged and showed data correctly. Still, though, with Datamaster it connects and then won't sync when you want it to. So you get no data. I'm using the Datamaster version that supposed to work for L98 Vettes and F-bodies. Kind of aggravated about it. I wonder if I have one of transistors in backwards, but if I did I don't see how it could work properly with WinALDL.
Anyone have any suggestions?
On the good side, I had no codes and the new fan control setup I installed kept the coolant temp just right according to WinALDL.
Downside is that it kept showing Rich flag (assuming this is O2 related) off and on and EECC Slow O2 Rich/Lean Flag.
I'm going to replace the O2 anyways since it probably has never been done. Also, the TPS showed a voltage of .64 or so at 3% and when pressing the pedal all the way to the floor it would top out at 98% and never reach 100%. I'm going to open the throttle at the throttle body and see if it goes all the way to 100%. If not, the TPS may need a slight adjustment or the throttle cable may be stretched slightly. Which I'm sure is still an original piece.
Edit: Also, I'm getting some knock around 3000+ RPMs. I'm fairly certain this is false knock from the massive exhaust leak I have. The pipe that comes down from the passenger side manifold is completely separated where it meets the driver's side crossover pipe. I'm going to have it welded up, but headers will eventually replace all of it.

I'm going to go back and build a 1 transistor circuit. The one I've got now is the 2 transistor circuit, it may work with Datamaster. Next time I'm near Radioshack I'll get the parts. I'm a few resistors short now. --

No codes and rich only flag sounds like bad O2
Good O2s should be constantly jumping rich/lean as the ECM adds/pulls fuel
TPS at 98% is fine, I wouldnt bother with it until it goes outside of 95%
Fix the leak and redo the scans, sounds like good progress
