i was just wondering is there any difference between an 88 lo3 and an 89 lo3 and the computers even the same?

No difference, equally suck. Cpus may have changed..... Do a quick search on TGO, though, i'm not sure.

The stock cam in the L03 was..
intake: .351
exhaust: .386
intake duration: 180
exhaust duration: 196
And the heads were total garbage.

This is why most guys who want to mod their L03's go with a stock LT1 cam (~.450 lift int/exh) and a set of LB9 heads.
That coupled with some decent tuning and you're makeing OK numbers vs the 170hp stock HP.

well what i was thinking was running a ersons roller cam 215/220 @ 0.50 with 499/510 lift power range is 1200 to 5800 with my set of vortec,s i ported. with the vortec intake made for tbi and throttle body i was thinkin 670 holley

Thats retarded

Dont buy a vortec intake made for a TBI (2bbl) then mount a 4bbl on it

Shooting yourself in the foot big time

Start with a standard carb intake for vortec heads and adapt for TBI or run carb. It doesnt make sense to buy a TBI intake ever

That cam is pretty much identical to the ZZ4 cam common on ebay for less than $90 new
1) its huge for the 305
2) vortec heads wont support it

Bennie, if you would have done a cam or bought the 94 LT1 cam I had offered you, you would have had MUCH BETTER results.

The stock cam is way to small to expect anything more than mid 15's out of no matter the heads and intake. If the cam isn't lifting the valves enough to move some air you wont make any more power.

True, but from what I hear/read, The stock CPU cannot handle the cam and heads combo if you have intake/injectors and exhaust modded already.

And getting into CPU for a TBI is not something I want to tackle. (Sorry Jon ha)

What I mean is the TBI ECM is not powerful enough to control the engine properly even when tuned and must be upgraded

Thankfully there is someone with a strange obsession for obsolete engines and he designed the EBL ECM

No. you would be better off $$$ wise to buy a carb set up instead of the TBI. probably less $$$ and easier (for most) to tune.
