Looking for 3rd gen Camaro

Posted By: 44duff On: 08-13-2008 @ 12:35:56         Reply | Edit
Thanks to those who have responded to my previous post (86 IROC). I guess I should tell everyone what I'm looking for, as I have seen quite a few candidates on different boards. I'd like a mid to late 80's auto. Doesn't need to be a Z or an IROC, but I'd like to have that suspension and a 3:42 posi. Doesn't have to have immaculate paint, but it does need to be solid. Hard top or t-top, whatever I can find. Here's my plan. I will be building a new engine for my circle track car this winter. I'd like to get the Camaro to put the old engine in. That said, Camaro doesn't need an enigne, but it would be nice so I could use the brackets, accessories, etc, although I'll probably have to buy headers and some other small stuff. It won't be a daily driver or anything, and will also be used for spectator drags at local tracks from time to time. Now the tough part is I'd like to spend less than 2k to get the car, probably around $1500. I realize that I might be asking a lot to find one in good shape and get it for that price, but that's what I'm looking for. I'm in Standish, Michigan, about an hour north of Flint. A couple hours north of Detroit. Let me know what you think I can find one for, or if I need to lower my standards. And if you know of a candidate, let me know! Thanks for the read and any advice/help.
