92 RS rear deck alignment

I just got back my original owner 92 RS from my son. At one point when he had it the rear deck window was broken and replaced. He commented that the rear deck leaks when it rains. I noticed that the rear deck seems to protrude about 3/8 inch. It appears to me that, when the glass was replaced, the deck was not properly aligned. Before I attack this myself, I wanted to ask if there is indeed some play in the deck alignment and can I handle this myself.

There is play
Most likely the leak is from a faulty rubber seal or there was not enough black sealant put in when the decklid was re-attached
To find the leak cut a few pieces of paper into strips and tuck them under the seal on the inside of the trunk area and near the glass-decklid union
Close the trunk and hose it down
Check for wet paper. The leak is in that area -- "If you have complete control over the damned thing, you're not going fast enough." - Carrol Smith

Thanks. He did replace the rubber seal himself after the glass was replaced. I'll try your tip and see if I can locate the exact spot where it's leaking.
As for my second question, the deck is misaligned. Can I adjust that myself or should I take it to a body shop?
