easy motor swap

Posted By: 91_gta On: 06-25-2008 @ 03:15:51         Reply | Edit
Well im sure the 305 isnt going 2 last 4 ever. So well im up for ideas on what 2 build.... I finally have enough money saved 2 start.

Here are some stuff 2 think around.

Will run 100-175 wet shot.
3.73 gears
drag radials
big cam

At the moment the car will stay an auto... Depending on money.. I think if I did lt1 swap I would only do that if I could get the t56 still strapped 2 it.

But what is an easy motor swap.

Build TPI motor
Build Carb motor
Lt1 swap

Dont no any other options... just send some info on what you think..

well i'd go carb, depending on your emissions thing.

you can build a pretty bitchin carb'd motor but it'd never pass emissions. it'd be less than a TPI motor cuz you'd be buyin a TPI plenum, runners, intake base, cold air kit. whereas carb, you buy an intake and carb.

Jon will come on here adn bash me for saying this because he's all into DIY proms... LOL

But I'd ditch the TPI set up if you're going for big power. It's pretty hard to tune and you have to spend a little money just to be able to do it.

Carb set up usually make tons of power anyways.

well thats what im leaning towards....

Im thinking I could build a 383 carb really easy.

I mean really I just want 2 run mid low 12's motor then low 11's on spray... I think a good heads, cam intake carb on a 383 could do that easy.

So is carb the way 2 go.... I mean I dont have to worry about emissions...

Ls1 + T56 swap ftw! It's reliable, fuel efficient, and makes great power. Only problem is that it is an expensive swap

What college are you going to? I always seem to have a negative in front of my account balance while at school.
