Hooker Super Comp vs. any other header

Posted By: Archangel On: 03-31-2008 @ 07:45:05         Reply | Edit
Why are the Hooker Super Competition headers so more expensive than any other header. I currently have Hookers, but they have tiny 1 1/2" primaries. Will Heddman 1 5/8" be really worth it? I mean, they are cheap and even if they don't flow as well as same sized Hookers, they have larger primaries than my current set-up. The question is: What makes the Hookers more expensive? Are they so much better? Should I go with the Heddmans? Thanks

So Hookers 1 1/2 are better or on par with Hedman 1 5/8? I mean, performance wise.

Depends who you ask
Some people will see the number and automatically assume bigger is better

I prefer hookers
My DD uses hooker 2138's with 1.5" primaries and they flow alot better than open 1.625" headmans on my weekend warrior

Gauging this by cool-down time
Restrictions -> lingering heat -> poor flow

Hookers with full exhaust can be touched 5 mins after shutdown
Hedmans with no exhaust are still hot after 20 mins

What about the SLP headers?

What about em?
The poor fit?
The fact they are discontinued?
The high price for cheap quality?
Them being overly massive for no good reason?
Leaky sum-beechiz?

Anyone else? So, i should stay with the 1 1/2" hooker super competitions? The reason I want to upgrade to larger primaries it's because I'll be installing AFR 195 Eliminators and we're talking about 211cfm exhaust flow! I know Hookers are great but they are too expensive, compared to the other brands

Then buy something else if cost is such an issue

Go with the 2210's if you are really worried about flow

the hooker super comps- the tubes are all the same length makes more power and i would run the 1.3/4 super comps with the 195 afr,s
