Did they even...?

ok, you all know i have a 87 trans am. i know all the camaros (82-92) ran the same center console without the radio pod. AND the early birds (up to 85 i think) ran that console as well.

now i want to switch my car to a 5spd but not put in the older/camaro style console.

i've never even seen a picture of a 5spd console plate for my car. its the one with the grid on it.

hawksthirdgen has a listing for a used one, but never have one in stock.

looks like this, but not auto

I'll check a yard here soon, I really do believe that I saw one here a while back. What kind of rush are you in?

They are incredibly difficult to find

I have a pic of one from my old 89 but photobucket is down right now
Ill post it later

A guy on TGO got tired of waiting so he cut up his automatic plate and fitted a new boot to it
Worked like a charm and I think it looked better because it lacked the factory gear map

i've been thinking of grabbing one off ebay for cheap money and trying that. if i liked it, i'd use it.

i dont hate the look of the gear map, BUT i've been pondering for 6 months how to get one and had no luck

This is the stock 5 speed plate for 86-92 birds

Sometimes you luck out and find them in JYs or partouts

I made mine out of aluminum, and polished it up, though it is for an automatic, it would be just as easy to make one for a manual.
