Then you could get an answer from the right people. But, I'd imagine that it should stay. PLEASE call the manufacturer first though. You wouldn't want to break your transmission because "some guy on the internet." -- Being rebuilt, It'll take a while:

I NEED HELP -- 1987 formula 350 5.7, 3inch exhaust, hooker headers, bbk throttle body, cold air intake Posted By: blackcamaro On: 04-11-2008 @ 01:32:53 Reply | Top | Edit Commonly on these transmissions the 3rd gear routing system will crack and not be able to build pressure to get it into gear, so it will sit just between 2nd and 3rd. this is what i have had a problem with this last transmissions. Maybe one day i will acctually know how to rebuild one. YOU NEED A REBUILD Noticed the date. I hope maybe this is still usefull information.
