The inlet hose to the heater core goes on the hose barb on the bottom of the water pump that points to the passenger side of the car. The return hose goes to the hose barb on the top of the pump right beside the thermostat housing. At least that is the way they are on my 93. I just had them off to back flush the heater core, so it its still fresh in my mind.

Just drained the coolant, undid the heater hoses, and connected the return hose to a garden hose. I let it run til the water coming out the other hose was clean, alot of rust and aluminum corrosion came out. I then blew the water out with compressed air, and poured vinegar into the hoses til the heater core was full. I let the vinegar set for about 30 min, then reflushed it and alot more stuff came out. I then blew the water out again, hitch the hoses back up, and refilled the system with coolant. The reason I had to flush it was that the heater didn't work, I learned to use vinegar to disolve calcium and rust from a an who worked on commercial ice machines. The heater workes pretty good now, I drove it the other night when it was 15 degrees out and it put out plenty heat.

good deal, glad to hear you got your heat. I had a 84 cutlass once with no inside door panels and no heater, believe me I can relate !

so thats how ya do it! i got my camaro about 3 weeks ago, and it doesnt blow heat, so i assume the heater core is blocked up. i tried to take off the hoses the other day and gave up, i hate those spring clips! good call on the vinegar though, ill use that when i finally get this heater core flushed
