TPI system

Posted By: 91Fireirocz On: 01-04-2008 @ 22:07:19         Reply | Edit
OK. I got a 350 with the TPI system out of a 89 Iroc. Now going to drop it into an 85 Silverado mud truck. I lost the MAF sensor. Now the question is do i NEED the MAF. I am guessing it will run without it. It ran before and i still got the ecm hooked up to the engine. Going to wire up some of the rest of it.

I think the 90-92 3rd gens had speed density. I don't know what you need to convert it. The computer obviously, but other than that I don't know. It would probably be easier just to buy a new one though.

New MAF is about $150 and you DO need it.

Alright thanks guys. That helps alot. I wish i knew where the old one went. Another small question. Do i need anything off the dash wire harness or can i just rewire the sensors to the dash. I got the entire ECM and ECM harness but the dash harness was torn apart. Is there anything major i need from that harness to make it run

Problem is that the junk yards around here don't have any of those harnesses. My friend is great at wiring so i figured he could do that. I got the harness from the firewall to engine. So most of it is there. We don't need most of the shit off the dash. Plus we are putting aftermarket gauges.
