There saying you can get 700 horses from your SBC with this! Just think folks the fastest factory 3rd gen was the 89 Trans Am pace car with a V6 single turbo. Just think what a twin turbo 350 could do!

Posted By: Shift On: 10-07-2007 @ 16:10:54     Reply | Top | Edit
That and a whole shitload of other engine mods to match. You wont get 700 horse from bolting that to your 150 horsepower SBC, you'll just blow it up probably lol.

you need all forged parts and dished pistons

Dose anyone here know much about turbos?
Would a TwinTurbo hurt a stock 305 TPI?
How much boost could you safely run?
How much power should you expect?

I would be tickled just to have 400 horses, 400 foot pounds and a strong power band to 5,000 RPM !

Several TGO members have TT 305's and 350's

Research them, they are VERY expensive setups unless you know exactly what your doing

Food for thought
Turbos are designed for top end power
TPI's are designed for bottom end torque

Either spray it or supercharge it if your keeping the TPI

If I knew this kit works and would hold up on a daily driver I would buy it now.
As for me having all this money so you say. I do make good money with the railroad but the fact of the matter is I'm single with no kids. So all my money after what little bills I have is play money. This is the car I wanted to make my 84 TA I had in high school into but didn't have the money then. I think I'm entering that mid life crises thing a little early at 30. I miss the old days when these cars were cool and fast and the furious wasn't thought of yet. That movie was the death of the American muscle car. Young people drule over those stupid rice burning lawn mowers with there coffee can mufflers.
I graduated high school in 1996 and went to a red neck high school. Kids that drove a V8 was the shits, lots of the guys likes to mud sling in there 70s F150s or chevys. That was popular then. Girls was all stuck ups and if you wasn't on the football team you was worthless trash in there eyes. So me and all my gear head buddys just spent all our time wrenching on our hot rods and draging them down John B Dennis hwy!
My TA was an embarresment in a drag race but looked cool crusing Broad St on Saturday nights with the T Tops out! Gosh I miss that!
But when I got my 79 mustang cobra that all changed, I was the fastest thing in school! Only 1 guy could give me a run and he had a 79 camero with a 350. Our cars ran side by side out of the gate to about 50 then I walked away from him.
But anyway didn't mean to make this so long just kinda got carried away in thought.
Just don't want anyone to think I'm a drug dealer because I dumped so much money in this car this summer. lol
I have got it running pretty strong now. It will melt the tires like nothing and people around here thinks it has much more then it really dose.
It runs best on a cool night, I was at the sonic drive in last night and lots of people I know was there. One has a honda civic and back out and said let me show you what a jap car can do. He pulled the e brack and reved it to the limit and droped the clutch. It did a wimpy burn out for about 5 seconds then lost torqe and fell on it's face. I said let me show you what a 20 year old American car can do now. I backed out and droped it in low and with out power braking just stomped on it and it lit the tires up and drifted sideways all the way up to the road. I would say at least 50 feet and I had to let out of it to slow down. I was accused of being on the bottle in that burnout. I opened the hatch and said if you find a bottle in this car you can have the car hows that. They looked it over from top to bottem. They can't believe it can do such a burnout that easy and keep reving higher as long as I can hold it. I told them it's all in a number, V8 baby! lol

well in order to run a tt setup safely on a sbc you really cant run over 8lbs of boost without going fully forged bottom end.however youll need bigger injectors, a timing control, higher volume fuel pump,a boost guage,an a/f ratio guage and another o2 sensor,a fuel management controller, bigger throttle body and alot of spare time

Posted By: xxnightraven73x On: 01-14-2008 @ 19:51:55     Reply | Top | Edit
those are just things off the top of my head theres alot more to do than just bolting it on and hammering the throttle

All are relative to the particular setup

The "extra O2, gauges, and bigger TB" are not needed at all
By O2 you mean a wideband O2, which is a tuning tool rather than a necessity
Gauges are handy but not necessary
Most of the boosted setups retain teh stock TB, a bigger one may flow better but you need to make sure your setup needs the extra flow before you drop the extra cash on a part that may do nothing

well after dumping that much cash into parts and all the work to put it on most smart people want to monitor what everything is doing.most boosted set ups go with a larger TB for the mass of air flowing through it.since putting on twin turbos will requier extensive tuning a wideband will be very important if you want it to run right.
