They're going like 55mph so the engine doesnt have enough torque to keep the tires moving and light em up when it hits the ramp --

That's pretty cool, I've always wondered about that myself if that worked. Me being a child of the 80s and Knight Rider was my 2nd favorite show and Dukes of Hazzard #1!
Makes you wonder tho what that's doing to the tranny being in high gear at 55 then the wheels being jerked down to a crawl. To me that would be the same as a car being on jack stands running at 55 then falling off them hiting the ground. Can't be good but oh well Hollywood can aford it.

Shift,
yeah, i suppose that your right, there is basically "no" load on the motor at cruising speed.
And since the ramp was metal and wet there wasn't any traction to hurt the car either.
when he backed out of the semi, they did chirp a little. nothing major but i noticed it.
i cringed when she rubbed at the breakover point --

I get pissed off every time I see a 3rd gen get smashed or torn up on tv. I understand that they are cheap and plentiful but all the time, if they need an old car to smash, it's going to be a camaro of firebird, normally a camaro. --

You see how many they demolished on Fear Factor?
Pretty much every car stunt involving a car getting demolished used a yellow 3rd gen camaro -- "If you have complete control over the damned thing, you're not going fast enough." - Carrol Smith

Fear Factor and Myth Busters are known to use 3rd gen Camaro's for their tests/stunts. The majority of the time, they f*ck them up pretty badly too. -- 1997 Mystic Teal Trans Am, M6, Leather, Hardtop.

Well, being Fear Factor, they needed a car that would scare the shit out of the contestants. Thus the 3rd Gen Camaro . --
