Well I know that everyone here loves fbody's, and so do I but I might have found a car.
Here is the car and the mods.
1989 GT Black 5-speed Zoom stage 3 clutch 24lb injectors BBK AFPR BBK cold air intake Draglights BBk longtubes flowmasters 3.73 gears fordmotorsports B-cam new tires (front), drag radials (rear) new water pump new power steering pump new seats monster tach new cowl hood redone 306 block ready to be bolted together drag lauch springs 88,000 miles
Then I might add some n2o just in case
The car looks great and runs even better,
has timeslips of 13.4 all motor
im working on a pic.
He wants $4000 , But i might be able to get him for a little less what do you guys think?
Im working on a pic

Dont know yet im still thinking about it, I just dont know. --

Well if your looking for speed then I would definantly go mustang! Just go to the track and see how many F bodys beats a mustang. I'm yet to see it. My TA might beat a 4 banger mustang but I wouldn't put money on it.
I hate to throw down on my own car but it's a dog. Last time I ran it I raced a 92 civic 1.6 liter mostly stock just a chip injectors and exaust. He blowed my doors off. BIG TIME!

I'm just fixing my car to look good for now, there's no hope to get a 305 to run good there good for nothing but a boat ancor. Maybe latter on I'll do the 400 swap and throw that TPI in the trash! I'm tired of poring money in that thing I should have ditched it for a good carb long ago!

I was debating on trying 4/11 gears and see if that would get my car to move better but then again probably not a good idea putting low gears behind a motor that wont rev past 3,500rpm. You can really tell just by driving my car it's geared way way to high! I mean overdrive is useless in the thing it's just idleing at 70mph. That's great for gas milage I guess but it's not going to get you anywhere very fast.

Yea... But any good 350 will stomp my ass, The car is real quick on the bottle but a little girl off it.
motor= 14.59
bottle= 13.8, But I didnt hit the n20 until second gear and I spun em all the way threw the 60.
So im thinking once my nitto's come in and i put in the 125 shot a low 13 high 12 might be do able.
I want to hit 12's out off this before I put my new engine in. and the max I can go is 150 shot so we will see. --

True the 305 may be a little girl but most drivers have a hard time breaking 14.0 with a 350 or whatever

Yea I had street tires that were really really bald, Like so bald you could barley feel the tread pattern.
But im getting a set of nitto's and putting in 125 shot and see what happens, hopeing to get to the track in the next 2 weeks. --

Im really thinking about putting a small cam in real quick, Like maybe a stock lt1 cam, I mean I have 1.6 rockers so i guess the cam will sound a little bigger.
But is it really worth putting it in? Will I even gain anything in the 1/4 with that?
Also should I change my stock springs out if I do this? b/c the car has like 88,000 miles now and its got 1.6 rockers, Should I just go ahead and put know springs on it if i decide to do this?
I just want to run the 305 (boat anchor as some would say) into the 12's, before I put the new engine in. --

Question for 91 gta
What all have you done to get your 305 to turn 14s?
I would be tickled ass pink if my car could do that!
I've always been afraid of NOS I've seen it destroy alot of motors. That would be my luck as soon as I hit it the heads would come thru the hood.

Shift your car looks just like KITT!
lol. I also agree if a 12 second car isn't fast enough for you then you need a rocket.
Shoot I'd love to see 15 out of my TA.
It will be out of the paint shop this Monday so I'm about to start tearing at the motor again to see what's up with it!

Well here is what I have done to my car.
edelbrock headers
flowmaster 80 series ( prob goinng go with a hooker catback)
air foil
t/b bypass
1.6 roller rockers
3.73 gears
trans go shift kit
corvette servo
k/n filter
bbk AFPR ( I think set at like 49 50 psi)
underdrive pullies
ported intake
ported plenium
n2o kit
And thats about it.
I got to get sub frame connetors, drag radials, stall.
Then hoping to be at low 13 on 125 or maybe 100 shot.
And for the motor thing I dont know why I want to change, pretty much just because..... Well I dont know mean if I keep the 305 I could do heads/ cam and then hope to be at a low 14 high 13 then, at first I was just gonna keep the 305 but know I think I might change, Im not sure yet, But most likely leaning torward 350

I had a 1979 mustang cobra in high school, I loved it! They handle very well, I would say very close to as good as a 3rd gen TA. But are much much faster in my opinion. I know alot of people here holds bad opionions of me from throwing down on 305s but I've had nothing but back luck with the 305. The 302 that was in that mustang was twice as powerfull. I'm not a ford fan at all but you have to give the devil his due. A stock 5.0 mustang and a stock 5.0 3rd gen.
3 words. Apples and Oranges!
That's just my 2 cents.

Of course a 5.0 ford will beat a 5.0 fbody, 5.0 fbodies weren't the real performance model. Anywho I would much rather eat an orange than an apple, I hate the skin and texture of apples. --
