Are you planning on keeping the stock engine or building one up

305's came in 3 flavors
Carb older and computer controlled, not the best or most reliable
TBI newer and very reliable, but extremely underpowered and hard to get serious power from
TPI Only port injection availible, the intake design falls short in the upper RPMs but its the best platform availible

350's were only TPI automatics and were barely more powerful than the manual 305 TPI

All were 2 bolt main

A serious build would skip the stock systems for a better platform

And please dont go carb. That jsut screams "Im too lazy to figure out fuel injection"

350hp is about where the 350TPI maxes out N/A

350TPI
Good set of heads
Moderate cam
Headers
Ported plenum and base
Some sort of aftermarket runners ported to match
Good shift kit and a re-geared rearend
You will need a tune to accomidate all the mods thou

Might also go with a 100-150 shot of nitrous if you just need the extra stuffing

Good luck and post what you do
Im building pretty much the same with with a 91 GTA right now

Difference is I plan on fabing up a M90 mount
