My horn is broken

Posted By: ScreaminEagle91 On: 01-03-2008 @ 16:19:27         Reply | Edit
1991 firebird. the horn doesnt work because the buttons in the steering wheel are broken. i think 91 was on of the first years f-bodies had airbags, and i wanna re-wire the horn to a seperate button, but which ones are the horn wires?

I removed mine and installed a GT Grant Steering wheel. It was easy to do, and horn works fine!

They started with the airbags in 90'

Get a Haynes manual and look at the wiring diagrams

Now find the horn wires under the dash. Splice and remote mount where ever

Its illegal to tamper with airbags but as for yanking them, youll only lose the 9% airbag discount with your insurance and the chance of a nice soft undeployed airbag in your next headon collision

The airbags are almost as bad as the dashes on these cars. They always look like crap. I took mine out because it was pulling away from the edges by the horn.

They do look awful but it doesnt change the fact of what good comes from leaving it the F alone
