Steering ratios question??

For power steering

what is a better ratio--12:7:1, 14:1, 16:1

which one has less turns from lock to lock?

I have a 78 with a stock variable ratio one now, I was looking to upgrade to a tighter one.


any input anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

I found out that a 12:1 has a lock to lock of 3 turns
and a 8:1 has a lock to lock of 2 turns.



so the higher the ratio the more turns, I believe the 12:7:1 is 3.5 turns and the 16:1 I think is 4.5 turns
