Door Jam Gaps

Posted By: Quikerstop On: 03-03-2008 @ 10:51:37         Reply | Edit
Would anyone happen to know the gap size between the door and the quarter panel? Someone welded my striker on and I think they messed up cuz the gap is huge. Its for a 1979 Pontiac Firebird Formula

The striker shouldn't affect the size of the gap. You will probably have to loosen the door hinges and move them back to close the gap. I believe it should be about 3/16".

If you mean how much should the door stick out past the quarter panel,or vice versa, they should be pretty much flush with each other. The striker will affect that adjustment.
