Tranny fluid

Posted By: mcigna2002 On: 01-04-2008 @ 15:21:14         Reply | Edit
Finally pulled the old 301, to make way for a 400, but lost a load of tranny fluid when the converter pulled forward. Went to the auto parts store and found “Universal” tranny fluid. What the heck is that?

Is it okay to mix the “universal” fluid with what’s in my 1980 TH350?

Figured I’d ask you guys since most of the help in the local auto parts stores don’t speak English.

Help!

I think some companies are now labeling some of their fluids as universal domestic or import. Dexron III is most likely what it has in it, but you could also use type F.

Used to easier when Dexron II was GM and Type F was Ford. From what I have found out is that Dexron III can be used in any tranny calling for Dexron I or II.

Thanks for the help.
