69 Camaro wheel backspacing

I have a 69 Camaro and wanted to know whats the biggest wheel and tire combo anyone has fit for a stock camaro...i want to get some Weld prostars and want to know the biggest width and backspacing i can get so i can get the biggest meats back there...any info would help! thanks

I have 275/55R15 on my 2nd gen, and those barely fit (might be able to go a hair taller), but I'm not sure the size difference between your wheel wells and mine. You might want to look for a more 1st gen specific forum for this as the makeup of this one who post regularly is 85% 4th gen, 10% 3rd gen, 4% 2nd gen and 1% 1st gen (completely fake numbers but probably damn accurate).
