to restore or not

I am new to this site but have been a pontiac lover since my second car. I need some advice. I am looking at buying a 76 TA but it needs some work. The engine and transmission are new(not original). The entire inside of the car will need to be replaced. The body is in great shape with very little rust, it will need to be repainted and the decals added eventually. The asking price is $4000 and I wanted to know if this was a good price.

Thanks
Jimmy

Sounds like a fair price if the body is in as good a shape as you say it is. What engine and tranny are in it?

Thank you for the help. I am not 100% what the engine and transmisson are. I just know that it is a 400 and that it has less than 3000 miles on it.

thank you
Jimmy
