Fire wall

I had removed the A/C box to smooth out the wall and eliminated the heater core on my '79. For the life lf me, I can not remember what the hole in the fire wall just to rhe right of the box is for? Looking from the front of the car, it's just a little left of the center.

That is where the grommet and wires for the A/C and heater controls go to.
