1979 camaro z28, good buy?

Posted By: huntertharp On: 01-03-2008 @ 22:00:24         Reply | Edit
ok, i'm looking at this 79 camaro SS, it body itself is perfect, no rust, the inteior is in need of overhaul, engine and tranny runs strong, guy uses it as daily driver, he originally told a friend he'd prob take 1500 for it, but after lookin around for another better gas vehicle, he said he wanted 1800 for it, just curious if that sounds like a crappy buy or a decent or a great. i was thinkin maybe decent, but i dunno, thats why i'm here lol

i don't have any pics right now and really havn't seen the car myself at all, want some info b4 i even go to look at it, b/c if i get down there, i'll prob want to buy it anyway, any info is usefull thanks.

I don't believe they made a Camaro SS in 79.

There was no SS in 1979. 1800 isnt too bad of a price as long as it runs well and the exterior is good, but I would need more information on how bad the interior is. I looked at a 1979 camaro that ran strong, but had some rust in the usual areas (trunk, by the rear window) and they were asking $4000. nastyz28.com has a list of all the options available in that year and is a good source of information.

1980 Camaro, 350 with a snapped crank (hence the name) (New Engine going in, April/ May and painted Charcoal Metallic soon there after)
1991 Taurus DD with weight removal (rocker and quarter panels)
