rare block help please

I have a 327 or block that takes 2 distributers I was told.I got it with only the block- forged cam-pistons not installed.Never been bored so its a easy rebuld as I am kinda starting from scratch lol.Weird thing is is takes 2 distributers.I dont know what the correct value is for what I should put into it.Another thing the guy said it was a very rare moter.I just don't want to dump a bunch of money into ordering quality parts if its just a low valued moter.I would just get it punched out a little but actually it could take just a hone or bottle brush as its only looking bad from sitting in the cylinder walls from sitting no real wear.The guy brock it down to build it HP years ago then just let it sit.The intake and heads walked so I ended up with the block and the rest.I would have a ton of parts to buy for the thing and if the end value would not be worth what I put into it I would just assume pass.What do I look for on the old 327 that toook 2 distributers to be rare and or any rare identification marks.Im used to building 350 4 bolts and poncho moters -strokers.I dunno the most edjucated way to go with this one and what the cost vs end value would be.Too many variables so any end result input and or what to look for would be of great help.Any straight info would be of super headache loss.Please help

uPDATE WRONG INFO maybe.My brother brought the block over.My freinds say its a super rare vette moter. I think its a 283 but thats not rare or were some of them?.Here is the stamps off of it.Everyone one says its super rare but I have no idea why and my bro said he did not look but he though maybe 1 dist.Either way His mom said he paid 2k for the motor block before he passed so I had someone get all the numbers and stamps off the block for me.I think its maybe one of the old ss or vette motors.here is the info stamps.I think it may be one of those moters you could take to a 4" years ago for drag race motors but who knows.

I think from what my book says its a 283 but my book shows no rarity numbers on any moters as I am being told it is.I do not know the 283 well either other then I saw a few that pulled some good 1/4 miles.anyone who knows what I have please help.The original owner was into big money rare cars and motors so taht would fit from what everyone is telling me but I have seen so many 283s in the scrap yards years ago I passed on.They were like a dime a dozen back then.Oh I have not been out to my garage took look at the block to see if it does take 2 distributers .Many of you know i am a disabled mastertech so I will check it in a few days if I need to but I dont knoe what I am looking for on this moter to tell rarity.what stamps do I also look for that would make it super hard to find as that would fit the previous owners catigory and his finances were lets say unlimited.

yea thats what I got from the casting number in my book but the other stamps aint helping none.plus the word convi stamped across the top of the block is a new one to me.plus I can not see a time clock stamp anywhere?Also mine book comes back as 67 maro for the 810 stamp but the t4 and the word convi and also h128 are nowhere to be found by the internet geeks that look up the numbers like you did.I need someone who knows the motors to decode it.I am told that its most likely a 283 that gm put in a 327 crank in 1967 in a limited production of maros but I need someone who knows what those codes are for sure as 283s dont have them.Also it was fuel injected.Thanks for the help but I am right there with the info.thanks for the try though if anyone knows the codes it would help.

also what are the 283s worth now days.Im not gonna dorp a couple grand into it if they are still abundant and not sought after.if its worth anything then ill build it.There also may be more numbers and stamps under that orange paint did they serial numer them anywhere on them tiny moters?would a set of 202 heads bolt on that thing?I have a super nice set manly and whatnot 3 angled I was gonna throw on a 350 but went with big money jobs as the customer had a hole burning in his pocket.Well Ill wait and pray for someone who knows about them weird stamp codes or if there is a number hidden or what to look for.Ill mic the crank and have someone get it off the tire and onto a stand so it can be flipped over for a good look see.If its only value is of a 350 or less ill pass on it and dump it off. Im sure the cost of the fuel injection system would outway the value of the motor if its common block

unless its the correct motor for a resto..its not really worth much of anything..everyone just grabs 350's, bc they're cheap, plentiful, and can make decent power
283's are resto motors

i got married, had a kid, and needed some stuff with alil more reliability that i could drive right off the bat...not that newer equals that but i cant finance a 1st gen..
i got rid of EVERYTHING all i ahve left is a 70 camaro i'm puttin a 350/4sp in from my old nova..once i buy a house in afew months after my wife and i get our raises i'll be looking for another project car..1st or 2nd gen..i'm not sure which

Your a man now .Wow how the years have went by.Good for you Dan good for you.Congrads.Gotta 350 4 bolt main has a broken head bolt but dont leak. came outa a blazer 4x4.Has about 100k on it but strong moter.Needed the intake bolts and carb and acess asembly from it.Also needed the valve cover bolts (thats how I found out the head bolt was broke.Dont leak good compression not even valve seals.little dirty inside but not enough to scrape anything just film.You can have it ifin you want it but I keep my moter stand.Only thing is you need to get the cerpintine assembly.Threw a BBC into the blazer with alift kit.There is enough of the old head bolt left in the block I am sure to pull it(unscrew it)The top part of the bolt shows a weak spot so thats why she went.Be good for your 70.Got the motor (truck)from an oldtimer who bought it new.Never ran.Valve seals dont even leak.You can have it if you want it - the balancer .but you would have to drill and tap and helicoil if you went with old acess.Cerpintine looks nice anyhoo ifin you go with cncd stuff from jegs or summit.I have a cnc and mill here now but would not make the code for something like that.I have like 5 350 4 bolts here so I would not miss it and want the stand for the motor described.Otherwise Ill throw it in the corner on a tire.Got the new roff on my shop so we use the otherside now also.Glad to hear your doing so weel you were a good kid and Im sure you have become a good man.well gotta run. ummm how did you put it hmmm oh I know LATER.Z LOL.Hey where is everyone hanging now?
