subframe connectors?

Posted By: Nick97TA On: 01-04-2008 @ 14:15:54         Reply | Edit
my frind has a 73 camaro and we are putting in a 475hp 383ci with a th350 and trans brake and it will see N2O.that is the reason we are looking for weldin subframe connectors but the connectors we see all say you need to move the front spring location (that is the competition engineering connectors) we do not want to do that. we dont mind the connectors going through the floorpans just dont want to relocate any thing. does anyone know of any that will work

I used square tube bars which I bought from a metal
shop and MIG welded to the sub frames.

Nothing had to be relocated.

I can jack the car up on the rear point of the
frame,
and the front end comes up nice and solid as well.

Also feels tight while shifting hard into second
and the flexing has ceased in the body.

Nick,

The front weld is very obvious; here's the back location:

on spike tv, that loud guy lou santiago i think, showed how to fab frame connectors and it was fairly simple if you weld. you might be able to find it on the net. their show is on sunday mornings and when i first started watching i couldn't stand him, but he did some interesting work, now i enjoy his show. he's really into fabricating and very good at it.

Just use the bolt on units. Then for additional support weld the front. Nothing needs to be modified. Hint if front subframe bolts are rusted in don't spin them and break the cage nuts. Cut window in the side heat nut with torch take apart put together put window back in and weld.

global west makes some weld-ins that fit nicely and run under the floor pan. That's what I run.
