75 firebird dying

Posted By: fastfb350 On: 01-03-2008 @ 00:10:30         Reply | Edit
Well I finally got my 75 running after it had been sittying for a month. I drover it for 15 minutes and it just stalled out. I stopped at a stop light and it died. I let it sit for 10 minutes, and then jump started it, and drove it home. the battery and alternator are fine. It runs great, and the just dies. and then will start again for a while. I have already replaced the coil.

^^ Check for spark. If its getting fuel my vote would also be ignition module.

I agree, if it's getting plenty of fuel then check for spark. If it's getting fuel and spark it should run!

Dude! Does your bird die when you brake? Or, does it die when you power up from a dead stop? could be a nasty vacuum leak, maybe the brake booster. If it dies as the revs climb, it could be your pick-up coil in the base of the distributer. This happened in my 75' bird.
